Love Where You Live

Weekly Market Days

Leek Markets have been at the heart of the towns shopping experience since the first Royal Market charter was issued by King John granting  Ranulph de Blondeville, 6th Earl of Chester, the right to hold a weekly Wednesday market and an annual seven-day fair in Leek in 1207.

Market days are Wednesday, Friday and Saturday.

Based in the town centre, Leek’s traditional Wednesday outdoor market is well worth a visit. Over 40 stalls line Leeks streets, selling a wide variety of products including local food, homewares and clothing. The stalls mingle with the town’s thriving high street and are complemented by the indoor markets. The Victorian Butter Market has  20 traditional traders, and 20th Century Trestle Market with up to 30 stalls including a  traditional sweet stall, seasonal flowers, jewellery, ladies and men’s clothing and more seasonal stalls.

On Friday the traditional indoor Butter Market with 20 traditional traders is open.

On Saturday Leek’s indoor market halls are both open with traditional stalls. In the market place is the popular Archer Fairs Vintage, Craft and Collectors Market with over 40 stalls selling a huge variety of antiques, collectable’s, memorabilia, garden accessories, jewellery, books and much more.
